Position description
Vantage is looking for a driven Senior Architect to join our Design Delivery team in Frankfurt, offering a hybrid working model.
In this role you will provide architectural leadership within the Design Delivery team for Vantage Data Centers projects in existing EMEA markets. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing multiple projects, with
competing priorities, ensuring all projects are in alignment with strategic corporate objectives and all aspects of design engineering.
The Senior Architect will work closely with the discipline leads, global and regional innovation, and design engineering departments, as well as the local consultant team(s) to produce high quality designs packages that will be compiled for the planning permission associated with assigned projects.
To be successful in this role, the senior architect must thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoys leading architectural design, and collaborates with various business units to ensure that the design packages for new facilities will enhance Vantage’s product and service offering.
The ideal candidate will also bring the right blend of confidence, patience and dynamic to the Design Delivery team.

Essential Job Functions

  • Confident leading architectural design and coordinating with a wider project team including Client and consultants.
  • A strong all round design ability with technical knowledge and experience developing and coordinating construction packages
  • Ability to work effectively in large project team within an international environment
  • Ensure projects comply to design guidelines, standards and local code requirements (Germany and EU)
  • Professional experience across all architectural work stages. Pre-design, Conceptual Design, Schematic Design, Detailed Design, Construction, Handover, In Use and End of Life.
  • Knowledge of relevant local planning policies, authority guidelines and statutory requirements to support the process of obtaining planning permission
  • Detailed understanding of specific standards, building codes, fire regulations, zoning laws and regulations (Germany and EU)
  • Contribute and participate to cross functional company initiatives to drive the long-term vision
  • Liaise with both internal and external clients to ascertain or define project requirements
  • Work closely with the project design manager to support successful delivery of the project from conception to completion
  • Enable effective and clear implementation of internal VDC project standards and briefs standards, specifications, templates, and prototypes
  • Maintain and develop good awareness of relevant developments in the industry and disseminate that back to teams and individuals within the business
  • Capture project-level lessons learned and feed them into a change management program

Duties

  • Develop Vantage Data Center’s projects from concept through to detailed design working with the Design Manager and other disciplines leads
  • Work closely with project design teams to ensure that full collaboration is reached to achieve the required scope of works and hit key project dates
  • Work with the project design team to constantly review progress and report on successes and failures so that continual improvement can be realized
  • An important aspect of the role is to be able to work in a common data environment continuously showing development within a project by using online platforms such as BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) and coordinate with the BIM modelers to implement architectural requirements in the design
  • Support general and project-specific training specific to VDC standard and practices to internal and external team members on processes, tools, and project requirements
  • Identify new, innovative, and emerging technologies to assist in the development process, specifically as it pertains to the virtual design and construction environment
  • Participate in all project-specific coordination meetings as VDC representative
  • Drive design and engineering decisions to conclusion including managing internal and external resources, project teams, contractors, and vendors

Job Requirements

  • Professional Degree in Architecture
  • 3+ years of proven professional experience in all design phases
  • Knowledge of design development, construction documentation, and project delivery of data centers and infrastructure projects according to HOAI work stage of design is required
  • Knowledge in RIBA work stages of design is desirable
  • Knowledgeable of various aspects of campus-level master planning, building spaces planning and areas allocation, sustainability features, and impact on site operations
  • Knowledge in Autodesk Revit, BIM 360/ACC, SharePoint
  • Experience and understanding of managing teams to deliver project data to industry standards
  • Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to build, cultivate and leverage personal and professional networks and relationships, develop, and deliver successful presentations, and collaborate and negotiate effectively
  • Comfort in a fast-paced, dynamic, complex start-up and/or entrepreneurial environment
  • Ability to use time productively and work efficiently to achieve team/project goals
  • Ability to take on additional responsibilities as needed as well as determine and manage priorities
  • Excellent communication skills with a fluency in written and spoken German and English
