Description:
S.L.S part of ADE group is looking for a Senior Asbestos Laboratory Analyst to add to our Asbestos department based in Silverwater, Sydney. As part of the role, you will be conducting routine analysis in soil, bulk, and air samples, as well as assisting in maintaining the laboratory quality systems in our NATA accredited laboratory.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Experience in Asbestos analysis using PLM/Dispersion staining technique is essential.
- Appropriate tertiary qualification desirable, TAFE certificates minimum.
- Flexibility with working hours and tasks
- Previous NATA signatory status in asbestos identification or counting essential.
- Ability to work autonomously.
- Full rights to work full-time in Australia is essential.

Responsibilities:
- Routine preparation and analysis of soil and air samples.
- Performing asbestos fibre counting and asbestos identification on a range of materials including building materials, soil, air, and dust samples.
- Becoming an authorised signatory for Fibre counting and Fibre identification.
- Participating in external and internal proficiency testing as required by S.L.S.
- Carrying out scheduled instrument calibration and maintenance in accordance with documented procedures.
- Understanding and uphold general laboratory QA/QC criteria and NATA accreditation requirements as part of ISO17025. Ensuring the quality of data produced fulfills the requirements of S.L.S’s quality policy, NATA certification and stated data quality objectives.
- Perform other duties as directed by the section supervisor to ensure the smooth running of the section.
