Key Responsibilities: Admissions professional – full time team member of SUTD’s Admissions Department (and part of Student Affairs)

  • Admissions Operations:
  • Review and shortlist applications
  • Arrange for interviews (and conducting them where necessary)
  • Respond to student enquiries (email and calls)
  • Communicate with students and applicants
  • School/Poly Account Manager:
  • Strategize how to engage students, parents and teachers
  • Cultivate relationships with key personnel (e.g. ECG counsellors) and alumni
  • Keep account management and outreach materials up to date
  • Represent SUTD at On/Off Campus Outreach
  • Help students/parents understand SUTD’s offerings, benefits and fit
  • Conduct/facilitate workshops for potential applicants
  • Drive Overseas Market Outreach Activities (if assigned):
  • Identify suitable target market segments
  • Cultivate partner schools
  • Conduct overseas outreach efforts (inc. with partners)
  • Strategy and Planning:
  • Contribute to team planning for the whole admissions journey
  • Analyse admissions and student data to track effectiveness of efforts
  • Continually pilot new ideas to evolve SUTD’s admissions strategy
  • Pillar/Cluster Liaison:
  • Work closely with Pillars and Clusters, as well as other SUTD departments and student groups to engage students effectively
  • Communicate effectively with Pillars and Clusters as well as other internal and external partners

REQUIREMENTS

  • Possess a recognized degree from a university (preferably in Engineering, Computing and/or Design)
  • Have working experience in a business development, account management and/or an admissions outreach role
  • Possess strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Able to multi-task and work independently, while being tightly aligned to the organisation and team’s approach and efforts
  • Be creative and able to challenge norms, be resourceful, goal-driven, diligent, independent and yet be a good team player
  • Willing to travel if assigned portfolio includes an overseas market

One or more of the following will also be useful:

  • Familiar with undergraduate studies at SUTD
  • Understand the Engineering, Computing and/or Design education landscape, including institutions and programmes
  • Have a good understanding of the industries which SUTD students are employed in
  • Have design/systems-thinking experience, inc. implementation
  • Able to teach design thinking and conduct workshops
  • Be a “maker” yourself; actively involved in “maker” projects
  • Possess knowledge and skills of database and IT systems
  • Strong project management skills
