Description:

The Ordway: The Ordway is the arts epicenter of Saint Paul, Minnesota, and one of the leading nonprofits performing arts centers in the country. Founded on the belief that performing arts should be wide-ranging and accessible to all, the Ordway is home to a variety of performances that encompass the finest in Broadway musicals, concerts, dance and vocal artists. Known as the most comfortable place to catch a show in Minnesota, the Ordway includes a magnificent 1,900-seat Music Theater, a state-of-the-art 1,100-seat Concert Hall and spacious lobbies. The Ordway aims to reflect the communities it serves and address barriers to ensure everyone can experience the power of the performing arts.
Position Purpose: The Senior Associate, Donor Relations plays a key role in connecting donor and prospect strategies to implementation and results. The Senior Associate works closely with Advancement colleagues to ensure timely stewardship of Ordway donors (individual and institutional), and is responsible for administrative organization and support for the Advancement department. The incumbent will have frequent contact with donors and prospects, and exercise confidentiality and discretion. Qualified candidates will demonstrate strong communications skills, an ability to manage multiple deadlines, superior organization skills and attention to detail.

Key Performance Areas:

  • Facilitate efficient communication and benefit delivery between Advancement department and donors.
  • Consistent donor stewardship for Institutional giving partners.
  • Provide the Advancement department operation and administrative support to expedite daily tasks.
  • Assist with preparation of Advancement events as needed.

Other Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required, B.A. or B.S. preferred.
  • Three to five years of executive assistance or office management/coordination including customer relations, preparation of financial reports, database management, and general office skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Reliable transportation required.
  • Experience working in a customer/donor database system.
  • Exemplary customer service skills and the ability to demonstrate behaviors that enhance the level of customer satisfaction and meet the customer expectation. Ability to demonstrate an understanding of the customer’s request, offer solutions, priority tasks, be proactive, demonstrate flexibility and a desire to satisfy the customer, and progress the Ordway’s mission.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, OneNote, Outlook, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher and Word), Internet Explorer and WordPress.
  • High degree of sensitivity for confidentiality.
  • Ability to identify, evaluate, investigate and offer alternative solutions to problems.
  • Ability to anticipate and plan for the unexpected.
  • Ability to demonstrate positive, proactive and self-motivated behavior.
  • Ability to represent the Ordway in a professional manner.
