Senior Associate - Financial Lines

Kennedys is seeking a talented litigation lawyer at Senior Associate level to join our busy Insurance practice based in our growing Melbourne office.
Working closely with 4 highly regarded Partners, the role will focus on Financial lines matters including professional indemnity coverage and defence work across all professions within the financial services, allied health and construction sectors.
This exciting opportunity includes acting in regulatory investigations, complex coverage and indemnity disputes and include working on coverage instructions for a range of local insurers and London syndicates. You will have full responsibility for day to day management of multiple proceedings in the Federal Court, Supreme Court and tribunal work.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

• 4+ years’ of relevant insurance litigation experience with a background in defending professional services claims brought against AFSL, financial advisors, accountants & insolvency practitioners
• Experience acting in Federal Court, State Court and AFCA disputes is preferred
• Coverage experience acting for insurers and advising on coverage matters specific to the financial / professional services sector would be high advantageous but not essential
• Methodical and organised approach to file management
• Ability to manage own time, excellent organisation skills and attention to detail
• High level of professionalism and integrity; displaying the highest standard of professional ethics
• Leadership abilities and natural flair for building relationships
