JOB DESCRIPTION:

TSR Legal are currently partnering with a well regarded law firm based in Cardiff who are looking to add an additional Clinical Negligence Solicitor to the team. This role requires expertise in clinical negligence law, strong advocacy skills, and the ability to provide compassionate support to clients during what can be a challenging and emotional process. The successful candidate will handle a caseload of clinical negligence claims, conduct thorough investigations, and negotiate settlements or pursue litigation.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

Qualified solicitor with significant experience with at least 6 years experience in clinical negligence law.
Excellent advocacy and negotiation skills, with experience representing clients in court proceedings and settlement negotiations.
Compassionate and empathetic approach to working with clients who have suffered harm due to medical errors.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly and sensitively.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to assess medical evidence and expert opinions effectively.
Attention to detail and accuracy in legal documentation and case management.
Membership in relevant professional bodies or associations preferred.
Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated on legal developments in clinical negligence law and medical practice.

Responsibilities:

Manage a caseload of clinical negligence claims, including cases involving misdiagnosis, surgical errors, birth injuries, medication errors, and other forms of medical negligence.
Conduct detailed investigations into the circumstances surrounding each claim, gathering medical records, expert opinions, and other evidence to support the client’s case.
Provide expert legal advice and guidance to clients, explaining their rights and options under clinical negligence law and helping them understand the legal process.
Liaise with medical experts, consultants, and other professionals to assess the standard of care provided and determine whether negligence occurred.
Draft and submit letters of claim to healthcare providers, initiating the claims process and seeking compensation on behalf of clients.
Negotiate settlements with defendants or their insurers, striving to achieve fair and timely resolutions for clients without the need for court proceedings.
Prepare and present cases for trial in court, representing clients in hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences as required.
Maintain accurate records of case progress, correspondence, and expenses in accordance with firm policies and regulatory requirements.
Provide ongoing support and guidance to clients throughout the claims process, managing their expectations and ensuring they are kept informed of developments.
Collaborate with colleagues within the firm, including partners, associates, and support staff, to leverage resources and expertise in handling complex clinical negligence matters.
