Description:

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

Qualified solicitor with at least 6 PQE in Commercial law
Excellent negotiation, drafting, and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and address legal issues effectively.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts clearly and persuasively.
Commercial awareness and understanding of clients’ business objectives and commercial considerations.
Attention to detail and accuracy in legal documentation and research.
Membership in relevant professional bodies or associations preferred.
Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated on legal developments in commercial law and industry trends.

Responsibilities:

Provide expert legal advice and representation to clients on a broad range of commercial matters, including contract drafting and negotiation, intellectual property, data protection, procurement and IT/technology.
Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, agreements, and other legal documents, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Advise clients on legal and regulatory requirements affecting their business operations, including data protection, consumer protection, competition law, and industry-specific regulations.
Conduct legal research and analysis to support client matters, staying abreast of developments in commercial law, case law, and regulatory changes.
Assist clients in structuring and executing commercial transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and corporate reorganizations, while identifying and mitigating legal risks.
Provide guidance and support to clients on intellectual property matters, including trademark registration, copyright protection, and licensing agreements.
Assist clients in resolving commercial disputes through negotiation, mediation, arbitration, or litigation, as necessary.
Manage client relationships, providing regular updates, managing expectations, and ensuring client satisfaction.
Participate in business development activities, including networking, client seminars, and marketing initiatives to attract new clients and expand the firm’s commercial law practice.
