The Role
Thornton Tomasetti’s London office is seeking a talented and enthusiastic engineer with experience in delivering sports and entertainment projects.
Due to our growing workload in this sector, we are seeking an experienced associate, or senior project engineer looking to take that next step, to support and help lead this team. The role will have a strong focus on project management, and would suit someone who is keen to take a leading role. The role initially will be to manage help manage large sports projects in the Middle East, but there will be opportunities to get involved in other major projects, across a variety of sectors (including commercial, residential, cultural and sports) in the City of London, mainland Europe and the Middle East. Experience in delivering long span complex projects, and projects in the middle east would also be advantageous.
Candidates should be recently Chartered or working towards Chartered Engineer status through either the ICE or IStructE routes. For the right candidate, the role offers exciting opportunities to grow and develop their career in a supportive and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Management of other engineers and technicians for the successful delivery of projects.
  • General project management duties.
  • Coordination of design work with in-house staff across multiple offices, as well as other design professionals including Architects and other Engineering disciplines.
  • Communicate with clients and other design professionals to understand project requirements.
  • Assistance with proposals and interaction with potential clients.
  • Role may involve some travel within the UK and abroad.

Qualifications

  • Degree (Master’s or equivalent preferred) in structural engineering or related field.
  • Strong technical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal, written and graphical / sketches.
  • Good project management experience
  • Knowledge preferred (but not essential) of current industry software, such as SAP2000, ETABS, RAM, Risa3-D, PCA Software, Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, Grasshopper and Microsoft Office.
  • 8+ years of experience.
  • Candidates should be Chartered in Engineering with ICE or IStructE.
