for NDIS participants

4. Demonstrated research, analytical, presentation and communication skills

7. Experience leading a team, to nurture and support staff, and to provide ongoing
guidance and support.

ESSENTIAL AND DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS
A relevant degree in the field of policy, government, management, accounting, audit or
assurance is desirable.
To be considered for appointment to this role applicants must be able to demonstrate that
they possess:
- Knowledge of the NDIS and an understanding of the role of the NDIS Commission.
- Knowledge of the issues facing people with disability in the context of their rights,
health, safety and wellbeing.
- An understanding of the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Framework and the NDIS Act
and / or an understanding of legislation and policy matters affecting disability services
would be an advantage.
- An understanding of contemporary regulation, in particular, as it applies to a rights
based or human services system of oversight.
- Lived experience of disability or demonstrated understanding of disability services in a
state or territory government context.
- Experience in a regulatory environment.
EMPLOYMENT SUITABILITY REQUIREMENTS
All NDIS Commission personnel are required to meet employment suitability requirements
prior to, and throughout, their employment.
Responsibilities:
KEY DUTIES
The Audit Program team will manage and oversight the NDIS quality audit program and
audit related requirements. This program is a critical part of the registration process and
provides valuable information to inform registration decisions. It includes managing the
Commission’s approval of quality auditors and the auditor training requirements.
The successful candidate will:
1. Lead staff, supporting skill and knowledge development through the promotion of
learning and development opportunities provided by the Commission and the
application of public sector values and principles.
2. Be accountable under broad direction to perform and achieve complex audit work and
require an in-depth knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks and
policy requirements.
3. Plan and lead the development, implementation and maintenance of audit assurance
related activities for market operations.
4. Coordinate audit and assurance reporting requirements including external and internal
audits and reviews.
5. Interpret, identify and translate audit issues into findings and recommendations for the
NDIS Commission’s senior executives.
6. Identify, manage and escalate (as appropriate) risk and issues that impact delivery of
programs.
7. Identify opportunities and implement ongoing improvements for the audit program
assurance frameworks.
8. Extend high quality policy and operational advice for the audit program.
9. Engage with relevant internal and external stakeholders on complex and sensitive issues
in relation to audit activities.
