SENIOR AWS CLOUD ENGINEER

CommBank is recognized as leading the industry in IT and operations with its world-class platforms and processes, agile IT infrastructure, and innovation in everything from our customer facing technology to our internal services and solutions.
We are in the middle of rolling out an updated tech strategy that has DevSecOps and cloud engineering at its centre. We are looking for a certified, passionate and hands on AWS engineer who can hit the ground running in establishing workloads in AWS through IaC and GitOps.
You will be responsible for designing, deploying (via GitOps), monitoring and running AWS solutions that consist of Containers, ECS Clusters, API Gateways, Databases, Lambda & Step Functions along with EC2s that require AMI Management and performance/cost tuning. Your knowledge & experience in Observability and SRE will have you well equipped to support the delivery on our technology strategy.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team;

  • Experience with foundational AWS services (EC2, ECS, Cloud formation, Lambda, S3, Secrets Manager, KMS, IAM services etc.).
  • Have a proven track record of working within high-performing engineering teams in a public cloud environment; AWS would be advantageous.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of cloud resource optimisation, observability and maintenance (AMI etc)
  • Proficient in cloud infrastructure automation (CloudFormation, Terraform, Groovy, Jenkins etc.).
  • Ability to engage with and communicate to stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and part of a team with autonomy and empowerment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
