Hey there, we are SafeNow!
A startup on the mission to bring safety into the pockets of every person on the planet, for free. To do this, we are developing an app that gives you instant access to locally relevant helpers, whether that is your friends, family, or professional helpers.
We are a small team with a big heart based in Munich, consisting of 18 members with 7 different nationalities. We want to change the world for the better and are looking for a Backend Developer (f/m/d). In this role you will help us in pushing our SafeNow apps even further.

Tasks

• Develop our backend further together with the development team to meet the requirements of our international growth in the future
• To do this, you will continue working on our services implemented in Kotlin and also contribute conceptually to new services or rewrites
• You’ll prioritise stability, maintainability, and test automation, fostering a collaborative, open culture for quality-driven software development

Requirements

• Several years of experience in developing backend systems in Java, ideally with Kotlin
• Experience with database systems
• Experience with event architectures; familiarity with Hasura and Kafka (or RedPanda) is advantageous
• Preferably located in or around Munich and able to come to the office weekly (fully remote possible but not preferred)
• Fluent in English, as our team is diverse, and good communication is essential for integration
