Description:
OVERVIEW
We are seeking an experienced Python Developer with a strong background in ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) and Reporting. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will maintain our current ETL processes and reports and develop new datasets using SQL and Python. Additionally, you will be involved in designing and developing new products, including Dashboards and Reports using AWS QuickSight.
You should be passionate about building maintainable, efficient, clean Python code. You will be critical in delivering data-driven insights and solutions to help the organization make informed decisions and drive business growth.

REQUIRED SKILLS
- Extensive experience (5+ years) in Python programming and building Python-based web applications.
- Proficiency in SQL with a solid understanding of database design and optimization.
- Strong knowledge of web development with expertise in Python backend development.
- Familiarity with building and consuming HTTP APIs.
- Experience with Docker to containerize applications for seamless deployment.
- Preferred experience with AWS services like QuickSight, S3, Aurora, StepFunctions, Lambdas, and Batch for cloud-based development and deployment.
- Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to ensure smooth collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
PREFERRED SKILLS (PLUS)
- Prior experience with AWS services, especially QuickSight, would be advantageous.
- Familiarity with data processing and workflow automation using StepFunctions and Lambdas.
- Knowledge of data storage and retrieval using S3 and Aurora.
- This is a long-term Independent Contractor position.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and optimize existing ETL processes, ensuring data accuracy and reliability.
- Develop new reports using SQL queries and Python scripts to extract and present meaningful insights from various data sources.
- Design and implement new products, including interactive Dashboards and Reports using AWS QuickSight to facilitate data visualization and analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver software solutions around complex business needs.
- Write clear and concise documentation for code and processes.
