Description:
Our client is a national professional building certification company with an office based in the Southern Gold Coast area. Due to continued growth of the business, they are now seeking an experienced Senior Building Surveyor (Private Certification) to join their team in a full-time permanent capacity.
The company is currently dealing with numerous applications for multi-unit and mixed-use developments, aged care developments, retail and commercial fitouts, and they have recently been appointed to a number of exciting large scale, landmark projects in Sydney’s CBD and South East Queensland. Responsibilities:
It will appeal to a suitably experienced and qualified Senior Building Surveyor who is looking to expand their professional expertise through working on a range of exciting and complex projects across QLD and NSW. Ideally, we are seeking someone who has experience in dealing with Fire Engineered Solutions for Class 2 – 9 Buildings and are able to work independently within a team environment.
The successful applicant will be expected to undertake the duties of a Registered Certifier, a Principal Certifier, a BCA Regulations Consultant and Building Surveyor, including but not limited to:
- BCA assessments, reports and consulting
- Fire Upgrade Reports and Strategies
- Assessing applications and issuing of Part 6 Certificates as required under the EP&A Act and Regulations
- Providing professional advice to clients on a range of BCA and legislative matters
- Other relevant duties, including but not limited to, Principal Certifier Services, including Critical Stage Inspections.
- Provision of supervision and leadership for junior professional staff within the organisation
The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:
- At least 5 years’ industry experience
- Must hold registration with the Department of Fair Trading as a Registered Building Surveyor (unrestricted) or Registered Building Surveyor (restricted class 2-9) or have the capacity to attain this level of registration in the near future
- Excellent technical knowledge of buildings of all classes and types
- A demonstrated ability to assess performance solutions
- Leadership skills to mentor junior staff
- General business administration, reporting and IT skills
- Professional written and verbal communication skills to interact with colleagues and clients
- High organisational and time management skills
- Excellent presentation and a great, team focused personality
