ROLE PURPOSE

The Senior Business Analyst (Data Governance) is a key role within the organization, responsible for driving data governance initiatives and ensuring the effective management of data assets. This role requires a deep understanding of data governance principles, along with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. The Senior Business Analyst will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement data governance strategies, policies, and procedures to improve data quality, integrity, and compliance.

ROLE CHALLENGES

• Balancing data governance with business agility by striking the right balance between implementing robust data governance practices and maintaining business agility. Data governance processes should not hinder the organization’s ability to quickly adapt to changing business needs and market demands.
• Gaining stakeholder buy-in to implement effective data governance requires collaboration from various stakeholders across the organization. Building strong relationships and effectively communicating the benefits of data governance are essential in overcoming this challenge.
• Managing data complexity by ensuring data governance processes can handle diverse data types, formats, and structures.
• Measuring the effectiveness of data governance: Establishing metrics and measuring the effectiveness of data governance initiatives can be challenging. The Senior Business Analyst must define relevant Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and establish monitoring mechanisms to assess the impact of data governance efforts accurately.
