Job Description
Following the foundations of the business analyst I and II roles, the Business Analyst III role is a senior analyst responsible for more complex areas of analysis within their product line, reviewing the work of more junior analysts and providing assistance with the areas of the analysis processes and the business and application knowledge.
Business Analyst IIIs are able support more junior analysts in their development of their business and analytical knowledge.

Qualifications

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Sound knowledge of MS Office.
  • Knowledge of SQL.
  • Extensive experience working in an analysis role.
  • Experienced in managing the quality of the analysis output.
  • Experienced in providing reviews, feedback and mentoring analysts.
  • Experience effectively gathering, managing and documenting requirements, and development of use cases.
  • Understanding of the Project Life Cycle and Agile development and testing principles
  • Strong understanding of the structure and processes of the London Insurance Market and Global Insurance Markets.
  • Understanding in detail the product the analyst works in.
  • Understanding of process design and documentation methodologies.
  • Ability to create an effective business case, from defining the opportunity and analysing alternatives to presenting final recommendations

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting the analysis of complex business processes, functions and procedures to determine the most effective business systems technology that meet the needs of the organisation.
  • Providing detailed knowledge during design and requirements gathering meetings.
  • Providing support to of analysts within their project team / pod in establishing specifications and acceptance criteria based on business requirements.
  • Providing support to analysts within their project team / pod in building a joint understanding of the requirements across the other stakeholders (other analysts, developers, testers, project management, product owners).
  • Participate in system design as a representative of the user community.
  • Providing their initial estimates to their Lead Analyst.
  • Providing updated estimates to complete to their Lead Analyst.
  • Liaising with their Lead Analyst within their project team / pod around escalations and problem resolution.
  • Managing expectations and consulting/problem-solving to entrench relationships built on trust and delivery.
  • Execute training for clients and other team members in complex areas.
  • Engage in vendor evaluations, RFIs, RFPs.
  • Reviewing other team members for training requirements and validating training received, and providing feedback with regards to objectives and evaluations.
  • Potential line management of more junior analysts, including setting objectives and supporting training plans.
  • Supporting more junior analysts in their reviews of the coverage of tests executed by the QA team.
  • Assisting during the execution of user acceptance testing.
  • Any other duties commensurate to the grade of the role.
  • Working within the product suite to ensure that the overall solutions provided meet client requirements.
