BUSINESS ANALYST -EHEALTH

On behalf of our client, Procom is currently seeking a Senior Business Analyst -Ehealth a twelve (12) month engagement based in Surrey, British Columbia. While this client is pleased to offer a remote work model when possible, this role may require infrequent site visits throughout the lower mainland BC.

Business Analyst -Ehealth Job Details

  • Identify scope, system, site matrix confirming MEDITECH modules in scope by liaising with business areas and key stakeholders
  • Lead requirements gathering and development of clinical and technical workflows across portfolios in clinical information systems for Surgical, Critical Care, Medical Imaging and Cardiology, etc. in an acute care hospital setting
  • Develop Scope, Create Design Specifications and Transition to Operational documents for clinical information systems in scope.
  • Identify, execute and manage risks and issues including pragmatic mitigation plans associated with this work-package
  • Work closely with the Integration Project lead to drive the day-to-day activities, as well as, ensure effective communication and escalation of risks and issues within the established project governance;
  • Support creating an overall test strategy for various specialized clinical systems that integrate with MEDITECH EXPANSE.
  • Lead integration (HL7) discussions with technical teams and clinical stakeholders, with the ability to effectively communicate technical requirements to clinical stakeholders, and vice-versa communicate requirements from clinical teams to technical teams.
  • Coordinating and supporting teams through the design, build and test phases by preparing project documentation including design documents, work plans, and test plans/scripts.
  • Working with teams and vendors to prepare for and to go-live in alignment with the project schedule (deliverables may include cut-over plans, go-live plans, and operational transition plans).
  • Support HL7 based integrations
  • Workflow analysis
  • Downstream integration vendor mapping – requirements
  • Stakeholder engagement to ensure the appropriate inputs and validation including key decisions
  • Analyze current state assessment and identify gaps, design decisions and options.
  • Provide input and support in developing the project plan with specific scope and roadmap that will articulate if opportunities exist to incorporate BC Data Standards.
  • Include and provide an impact analysis of the implications of incorporating these data standards into the new solution design needs to be included, given different requirements from the vendor (MEDITECH), professional practice and clinical program areas.
  • Provide input into the implementation plan of the proposed strategy that aligns with the current integrated Advance Project Plan (Master Plan i.e. schedule, scope and deployment)
  • Collect information from all downstream clinical systems required to support the project requirements.
  • Ensure appropriate project documentation is organized for all requirements, design decisions, risk register, etc.
  • Prepare meeting materials and captures meeting minutes to support the Project Manager

Deliverables to be confirmed and completed within the engagement timelines

  • Appropriate documentation of downstream clinical information systems and impacts
  • Analysis and documentation of current state and future state data flows and workflows for all impacted systems
  • Documentation of functional and technical requirements for the Integration team and vendors for impacted systems
  • Support the analysis and development of briefing notes and decision records

Business Analyst -Ehealth Mandatory Skills

  • Minimum 5 years recent experience in Healthcare with a particular focus on IT systems and operational support
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in business analysis
  • Must have experience with clinical information systems for Surgical, Critical Care, Medical Imaging and Cardiology, etc. in an acute care hospital setting
  • Must have experience with Surgical, Critical Care, Medical Imaging and Cardiology, etc. workflow and processes
  • Must have experience working with clinical information systems that use HL7 integration (eg. BizTalk) and DICOM
  • Must have experience effectively communicating HL7 technical requirements to clinical stakeholders, and vice-versa, communicate clinical requirements to technical teams.
  • Must have experience in supporting testing process (test strategy/plan, creating test cases, executing testing)
  • Experience in managing complex projects that involve several integrated systems
  • Experience integrating downstream clinical applications with Meditech (eg: Coldfeed and discrete data integration)
  • Demonstrated clinical stakeholder engagement experience
  • Proponent shall possess strong problem solving, analytical, organization, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication, documentation and facilitation skills

Business Analyst Nice-To-Have Skills

  • Experience with clinical device integration
  • PMP or CBAP certification
  • Experience or knowledge of specific British Columbian Health Authority processes, downstream clinical applications, and end-to-end clinical and system workflows
