Description:

Responsibilities:

This is an exciting time to join the LSE - the leading global specialist social science institution with a long-standing and world-class research reputation. The Business Improvement Unit delivers business change projects which focus on user outcomes and benefits and involve stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. Projects generally span across the School, impacting large numbers of users and involve the design and implementation of change that deliver significant strategic and operational benefits.
We have an opportunity for a Senior Business Analyst to join the BIU to support the Research Management & Infrastructure Programme. This multi-year transformative programme will underpin the delivery of LSE 2030 through Priority 2: Research for the World, providing strategic change to transform the professional support infrastructure across the research & innovation lifecycle for internal and external stakeholders, enabling world-class research across the breadth of the social sciences.
As Senior Business Analyst you will elicit and present detailed requirements for projects within the programme and build the requirements catalogue. You will be responsible for liaising and collaborating with diverse stakeholders across the School to deliver comprehensive information on current and future states for the programme. You will work with project delivery teams from across multiple disciplines to deliver business analysis whilst adhering to project delivery governance. This is a key role to ensure successful delivery of business change, delivering benefits across the School.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have experience of working closely with programme and project managers, team members and stakeholders to clarify scopes and deliverables for programmes/projects.
  • Be able to gather and interpret user requirements and produce viable user-centric solutions in accordance with regulatory requirements and School policies and procedures.
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to lead, manage, coach and/or mentor staff as required.
  • Have a readiness to challenge the status quo and proactively identify and solve problems, including a willingness to understand issues beyond the boundaries of the project.

Exposure to research environments or open research systems in Higher Education would be advantageous. You welcome a challenge and are looking to work in an environment focused on the delivery of world-class research.
LSE is a campus-based university and staff are expected to attend the London campus in fulfilling their role. For this particular role we can accept applications from all parts of the UK, provided the applicant is able to travel periodically to the London campus.
We offer an occupational pension scheme, generous annual leave, hybrid working, and excellent training and development opportunities.
