POSITION SUMMARY

Sony Corporation of America (SCA) is seeking a Senior Business Analyst, GSIRT-US to join the Corporate Information Security Division located in the US/Reston. We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Business Analyst to join our growing security team. For this role, the individual will be expected to discover, define, analyze, and document requirements specifications for projects relating to automating IT processes developed by our IT organization. They will help our goal of improving efficiency, accelerating threat response, and strengthening our security posture across the global Sony organization.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION

Your qualifications and experience should include:

  • 3+ years of experience in requirements gathering, analysis, and documentation.
  • Experience working in a technical environment with exposure to cybersecurity concepts.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies (preferred)
  • Proficiency in user story creation and business process mapping
  • 1+ years of experience with direct programming or working as part of a software development team.
  • Experience conducting GAP analysis with proven ability to; elicit and understand business and functional requirements based on the team’s specific needs and challenges
  • Excellent oral and written communications; an ability to present and discuss technical information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and gains understanding
  • Solid teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate and persuade customers, employees, and management at all levels and thrive in a cross-functional environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills.
  • Highly motivated and strong work ethic and commitment to accomplish assigned tasks.

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $130,000 to $145,000. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a strategic liaison between security stakeholders (analysts, managers, PMs) and the development team (including offshore staff) to bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions. This includes gathering, refining, and documenting user requirements, translating them into clear technical specifications, and collaborating on testing and validation to ensure delivery of successful automation projects.
  • Create user stories to capture stakeholder requirements and translate them into actionable tasks for the software development team.
  • Analyze existing technical processes across the organization, identify opportunities for automation, and collaborate with technical staff to map out streamlined end-to-end business processes. You’ll also play a key role in driving process improvement and optimization initiatives across the entire organization.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including user requirements, training procedures, SOPs, overall system documentation, and training materials, while providing user support during the roll-out of automation initiatives
  • Participate actively in agile ceremonies (backlog grooming, sprint planning) to coordinate the software delivery lifecycle.
  • Conduct research, interpret technical documentation, and provide recommendations to solve complex people/process challenges across the organization.
