JOB TITLE: SENIOR BUYER

Mission of Function: Responsible for all Procurement activities

SKILLS:

• Strong ERP system experience – preferably SAP
• Procurement and or supply chain management qualification
• Strong negotiation skills and tactics
• Thorough experience and track record in procurement (e. g. management of buying department, poject management, global networking, supplier evaluation and implementation etc.)
• Strong individual, self driven
• Team player
• Finance / Controlling skills (Finance for non-financial course)
• Willing to travel
• Ability to think, act and network in a global matrix organization
• Six Sigma background (e. g. Green belt training) would be a Plus
• Must have successfully worked as a Senior Buyer before

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum:

• Relevant Tertiary qualification e.g Bachelor of Commerce in Supply Chain and Operations Management
• Post graduate qualification and Industry certification such CIPS will be added advantage
• Advanced training in procurement methods

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

• 5+ yrs procurement experience
• Experience with international procurement

PROJECT EXPERIENCE:

• Experience in procurement cost reduction project definition and leadership

INTERCULTURAL EXPERIENCE:

• Exposure to all South African cultures
• General Global exposure
