JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Buyer reports to the Director of Supply Chain and is committed to delivering high-quality products/services to our customers. The Senior Buyer will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing goods and services necessary for our operations. This role requires strong negotiation skills, vendor management capabilities, and a strategic approach to procurement to ensure cost-effectiveness and timely delivery of materials.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (or equivalent working experience).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management, with a focus on electronic components preferred.
  • Proven track record of successful supplier management, negotiation, and contract management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)
  • Experience with procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is highly desirable.
  • Experience with NetSuite software is highly desirable.
  • Certification in procurement (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) is highly desirable.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as engineering, production, and finance to understand material requirements and develop procurement strategies accordingly.
  • Source and procure electronic parts, collaborating closely with the various teams to understand requirements and identify alternative parts if needed.
  • Utilize our database of vendors for current products and work collaboratively with the team to ensure timely procurement.
  • Maintain appropriate stocking levels for production components by planning and overseeing inventory management processes.
  • Ensure that sufficient material is available to meet forecasts and demands, including the implementation of buffer stock strategies.
  • Coordinate with production to monitor counts and maintain accurate work orders.
  • Manage supplier relationships effectively, including establishing quarterly business reviews to assess performance metrics such as on-time delivery, quality, and costs.
  • Develop and maintain robust risk mitigation plans and escalation protocols to address any issues that may arise.
  • Identify potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and maintain relationships to secure the best terms and pricing.
  • Understand and manage supplier Master Service Agreements (MSAs) to solidify relationships and ensure clarity on terms such as manufacturing service agreements and procedures for handling obsolete materials after a specified period.
  • Utilize strong negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing, terms, and conditions. and drive value for the organization.
  • Stay updated on market trends, industry developments, and technological advancements to drive continuous improvement in procurement processes.
