Description:

Ballard Power Systems is a leading clean-energy company focused on the development and commercialization of hydrogen fuel cell technology. Ballard has a 6-month contract position available for a Senior Change Analyst at our Burnaby location within the Configuration Management team. The Configuration Management team is responsible for managing, supporting, and extending the capabilities of the Oracle Agile Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system.
The Senior Change Analyst will be assigned to specific product and non-product programs and will be responsible for the oversight of the Change Management process. The Senior Change Analyst supports and performs systematic reviews and releases of engineering product definition data for product documentation.
The Senior Change Analyst’s primary responsibility will be to ensure the consistent application of organizational processes and procedures in accordance with the Ballard Change Management Policy. The Change Analyst will support and drive the processing of both product and non-product related documentation throughout the lifecycle phases of the product development process.

Responsibilities:

  • Review all Change Orders submitted for accuracy and completeness prior to processing for approval. Make assessments about the correctness of changes submitted and provide recommendations that align with Ballard’s Change Management Policy
  • Work with design personnel to provide task specific guidance in the areas of Bill of Material (BOM) development and configuration change control
  • Maintain the Engineering BOM (eBOM)
  • Support Change Control Board (CCB) and Change Implementation Board (CIB) activities, which include, but are not limited to; processing the release of information associated with change implementations, verifying that continuity is retained and that documents to be released conform to the implementation plan and control process
  • Work with Configuration Management Team to minimize the change cycle time
  • Receive guidance and direction from other Senior Change Management Analysts in the execution of work
  • Coordinates with Quality Management to ensure engineering document control procedures align with quality control requirements
  • Maintaining summary of change activity and providing activity reports
  • Perform administrative changes and updates to the Oracle Agile PLM system

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 - 10 years of relevant experience
  • Diploma or certificate in relevant Engineering or Manufacturing industry (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management software applied to aspects of engineering development, manufacturing, quality, or production
  • Strong knowledge of principles of document management
  • Understanding the Change Control Process
  • Knowledge of database file management, maintenance, and security
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to prioritize, manage time well, multitask and troubleshoot
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal direct supervision
  • Works well with all levels of the organization and is customer-service-oriented
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Experience training users and creating training materials
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office product suite
  • Knowledge of the methodologies involved in business process development, use case creation, and documenting requirements

Desirable:

  • CM2 certification an asset
  • Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system knowledge an asset
  • Experience with the administration of database systems is an asset
  • Experience performing the role of a business analyst is an asset

The typical hiring range for this position is CAD$60,000 - CAD$80,000 per annum. In determining total compensation, Ballard considers many factors, including the successful Candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, experience, position location, and internal equity.
