Description:

THE OPPORTUNITY

Due to APRA’s new prudential standard, CPS230, QBE are currently looking for a Senior Change Manager to join QBE’s Group Technology & Operations team and help drive our readiness to adopt the new requirements.
CPS230 focuses on Operational Risk and will change how insurers need to think about and manage their operational risk, service providers, business continuity and resilience.
The Senior Change Manager - CPS230 will have accountability for the change management aspects of the programme. The role will work closely with project and SME resources across the business to identify change impacts and appropriate inventions and actions to address them. You will also be responsible for defining and executing the overall change strategy and plan. The programme will bring changes across our critical operations and provides the opportunity for broad exposure across a complex, global business.
The successful candidate will report to the Group Programme Manager and will work closely with senior members of the Operations and Technology leadership team, divisional Leadership team members and the global Risk leadership team.

Your new role

  • Engage and shape change strategy and approach with senior sponsors and stakeholders.
  • Deliver appropriate and well-established change artefacts to support the change initiative(s)
  • Define the optimal communications and engagement plan to deliver a given programme/initiative benefits.
  • Manage key business stakeholders to take ownership for the ‘case for change’ and to champion the change activities (e.g. managing resistance to change to speed up adoption).
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external business stakeholders to ensure that service delivery meets expectations.
  • Where applicable, manage and guide change champions and key stakeholders at all levels / cross departments and geographies on how to address resistance to change / obtain buy-in on complex and challenging situations.
  • Actively drive the execution of the change plan, co-ordinating activities across other workstream members, business SMEs and other involved parties.
  • Consistently deliver best practice change interventions that align / delivers business priorities and strategy.
  • Share and collaborate with new members of the team to become confident subject matter experts in change management.

Please note that for the successful candidate, this process will include a phone screen with our Talent Acquisition team, 2/3 interviews (either face to face or online via Teams) and background checks.

About you

  • Expert knowledge of change management skills and on the use of project management practices, methodologies and tools
  • Accreditation on Change Management (e.g. PROSCI Change Management Practitioner), Agile Methodologies and/or Project Management (e.g. PRINCE2 Project Management Practitioner) helpful but not a necessity.
  • Supporting large-scale transformation / behavioural change programme experience in a large, blue-chip organisation.
  • Matrix management, relationship and network building skills.
  • Senior stakeholder management experience.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Relationship, influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Resilient, self-driven & emotionally intelligent.
