Job Description
The Senior Director of Child Care directs activities and supervises leadership team members of all out of school time programming offered by the Hot Springs Family YMCA. This includes, but is not limited to on campus programs, school partnered programs and Parent’s Night Out. Provides leadership and direction for child care programs to include Child Care Licensing, Subsidy and Resource and Referral. Will also be required to bring all programs into reasonably tiered Better Beginnings standing as laid out by the Arkansas Department of Education. Responsible for the overall operation of the assigned areas including services, staffing, budgeting, and reporting. Also responsible for compliance with applicable federal, state, funding or other agency requirements and regulations.
Qualifications
BS/BA in education or related field
Minimum of three years leadership experience
Minimum of two years working with children
Ability to direct, supervise and budget programs and leadership team members
Knowledge of Google Operating systems
Exceptional communication and organizational skills
Relational skills as applied to child/adult, adult/adult, supervisor/team member, peer relationships.
CPR/AED Certification within 60 days of hire
YMCA Team Leader Certification within two years of hire
Preferred:
Child Care Director Licensing credentials compliant with the Arkansas Department of Education
Essential Functions
Provide oversight, direction and guidance to the Hot Springs Family YMCA Out of School Time Child Care leadership team.
Work with the Arkansas Department of Education to ensure appropriate Better Beginnings Certification for each program
Create, implement, train and utilize systems as it pertains to organized programming, tracking and reporting.
Engage with schools, parents, students and peers using high emotional intelligence and with understanding that relationships are a core value in program success.
Create, establish and develop innovative programs, activities, and events to serve school aged children during scheduled out of school hours.
Maintain safe program environments
Provides leadership within the program area for fundraising, and events which support the mission and work of the Hot Springs Family YMCA.
Develop and control department budget
Oversee and bring guidance to, minimally auditing accounts receivable each month as it pertains to programs.
Brings oversight to billing procedure, compliance and ensuring all billing is completed in a timely manner
Complete billing for CACFP and SFSP programs
Attend all leadership team meetings as scheduled
Responsible for all operations, programs, staff and safety of programs
Monitoring and purchasing of supplies for out of school time child care programs
Ensure program and facility compliance with all state and local regulations
Maintain all records according to local, state and YMCA policy
Provide policy and oversight for discipline, appropriate interventions, and behavior modification methods for students in the program
Create a constant and consistent communication system for parents and caregivers
Cause-Driven Leadership Competencies
Leader Certification within 90 days and Team Leader within 12 months
Required Certifications
School Aged Out of School Time child care in the state of Arkansas is under the jurisdiction of the Department of Education. Providers who choose to receive Child Care Development Block Grant Funding, or other state and federal funding, must be a Better Beginnings participant at the level determined by the Division. This system is intended to certify quality status to childcare facilities that meet Better Beginnings requirements as set forth by the Arkansas Department of Education.

REQUIREMENTS AND CERTIFICATIONS

CPR and AED Certification within the first 60 days
All Required Licensing and Better Beginning Certifications or willingness to acquire these certifications as a first priority upon being hired.
YMCA Team Leader Certification within 2 year
