Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE:
As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will contribute to the civil and structural development of projects, including power stations and wind farms, valued at over $1 billion. Responsibilities include reviewing concept designs, conducting feasibility studies, performing technical due diligence, participating in tendering processes, conducting geotechnical assessments, and providing input during contractual negotiations. The role primarily focuses on civil and structural project inputs prior to the final investment decision (FID) stage, with additional support for projects post-FID provided to the Asset Delivery team.
WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS:
- Provide high-level guidance to assess project proposals and feasibility studies, finding a balance between technical merit, cost, schedule, and safety
- Conduct technical due diligence activities on future asset infrastructure opportunities, including feasibility studies, geotechnical assessments, and general civil and structural technical assessments
- Evaluate and provide technical opinions on the design of new assets and assess future technology options
- Conduct technical design reviews to optimize cost, risk, and performance for proposed development projects, ensuring compliance with operational, maintenance, safety, and stakeholder requirements
- Support regulatory processes, including development approvals and preparation of supporting documentation
- Manage project budgets, consultancy costs, and internal costs to meet team objectives
