Description:

BC is seeking a national senior technical leader in Drought Resilience and Adaptation. This position will play an essential role in our Water Resources business in support of our Climate Resilience Initiative. This remote position can be based anywhere in North America, but will work in collaboration with Local Leaders, Technical Service Leaders, and the Marketing Managers, to collaboratively expand BC’s technical expertise, mentor, and support staff, and grow our business and in Drought Resiliency and Adaptation. This role would lead the development of technical standards and maintain and develop client relationships, connect BC solutions to client needs, lead project teams in quality project delivery, and guide procurement stages leading to new opportunities. Additionally, the role would be expected to participate in industry conferences, develop publications and contribute to research and innovation in the field, growing BC’s profile, and reputation within the industry.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION:

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Develop technical standards and business strategies that advance BC’s presence in drought resilience and adaptation.
  • Keep abreast of and share the latest industry trends with BC technical and sales teams.
  • Serves as a senior technical resource for key clients. Provide oversight and guidance to multi-disciplinary resources to deliver projects on schedule and budget and according to client critical success factors.
  • Utilizes internal systems for communication, tracking and collaboration on projects and opportunities.
  • Supports development of staff members, especially as it relates to exceptional client service delivery, strategic planning, and effective communication.
  • Leads teams conducting technical evaluations to support water resources planning and design, including watershed studies, modeling, nature-based solutions, climate adaptation, conveyance infrastructure, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensures quality client services, clarity on work products, and delivery of high-quality services within budget and schedule constraints.
  • Develops high-value client relationships, while representing BC with key clients and teaming partners.
  • Engages and cultivates client service teams to support understanding and delivering on client needs and expectations.
  • Creates client engagement strategies and pursuit plans, actively leading in key opportunity proposal strategy, positioning, teaming, messaging, and interview development.
  • Leverages resources, experience, and skills of the firm to support client goals.
  • Participates in professional societies, creating connections for BC and technical professionals in support of client goals.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • B.S. degree in related water resources or engineering field (Civil, Environmental etc.) required; M.S. degree in related engineering field with a focus on water resources or environmental engineering preferred.
  • Professional Engineer registration.
  • A minimum of 12 years’ experience in consulting and engineering services in the environmental sector with progressive responsibilities including business development and project delivery especially for water resources municipal clients, preferably in coastal regions.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients, lead project teams to meet project requirements, and provide strong business growth results in management roles.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing projects, delivering on time and on budget while meeting or exceeding client expectations.
  • Proven understanding of environmental and regulatory drivers for clients and projects.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resources allocation, leadership techniques and coordination of people and resources.
  • Proven technical skills with the ability to articulate ideas and concepts both visually and contextually are required.
  • Ability to motivate others and lead teams to implement plans for projects and client pursuits.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite including Word, Outlook, Project, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
  • Proficiency in ArcGIS and modeling software preferred.
    Salary Range: The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee’s primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.
    Location A: $137,000 - $187,000
    Location B: $151,000 - $206,000
    Location C: $164,000 - $225,000
