Responsibilities:

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE:

We are seeking a skilled Senior Clinical Business Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in analyzing clinical data, improving healthcare processes, and ensuring the efficient operation of clinical systems. This role involves working closely with healthcare professionals, IT teams, and stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions that enhance patient care and operational efficiency.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING IN THE ROLE:

  • Support the on creating standard order sets, documentation templates and other workflows used by physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, and other regulated health professionals providing bedside care.
  • Work closely with other team members, Subject Matter Experts, and clinical stakeholders in the gathering of business requirements and design of new standards to be adopted province wide.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on the impact that CISs and digitization of clinical processes will have on the design of content, workflows, and procedures.
  • Work with the Project Manager, to develop and maintain high level project plans and assist in complex problem-solving of processes.
  • Responsible for gathering and defining business and system requirements, conducting gap analysis, developing design documents, and facilitating engagement sessions to achieve the project’s objectives.
  • Foster and maintain close working relationships with the various lines of business to ensure the business and information technology requirements align.

WHAT SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS YOU’LL NEED TO DO THE JOB:

  • University Degree in either Healthcare, Business Administration or Information Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10 years demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst (or equivalent) responsible for requirements gathering, workshop facilitation, use case analysis, business process analysis, detailed design activities, and developing business analysis documentation.
  • 3 years of demonstrated full-time experience in health information systems and/or healthcare operations.
  • Demonstrated experience with clinical business analysis in one or more of the following: computerized provider order entry (CPOE), order sets, clinical documentation, ancillary services (Pharmacy, Medical Imaging, Laboratory) are strongly preferred.
  • Leadership experience on clinical information solution implementation project(s) with specific experience leading teams through the design and build of one or more of the following: computerized provider order entry (CPOE), order sets, clinical documentation, ancillary services (Pharmacy, Medical Imaging, Laboratory).
  • Demonstrated experience working with a high level of self-direction, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to confidently engage and collaborate with project team members, subject matter experts, and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated experience working with multiple stakeholders and leading teams supporting more than one project stream/activity at a time. Lead experience in management of healthcare initiatives with a specific focus on CIS implementation and/or clinical standardization.
  • Experience as a regulated health care provider in an operational role.
  • Demonstrated expertise employing project management tools, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook, Teams) in the work environment.
  • Previous experience working within public health authorities, showcasing a strong understanding of the public healthcare landscape, policies, and practices.
