Description:

A new and exciting opportunity to be #TeamEDs Senior Clinical Fellow - ST4+ level - in Sustainability and Emergency Medicine. This 12 month post will be split 80:20 between clinical duties and sustainability. The successful applicant will work across both hospital sites, gaining experience in working in a Major Trauma Centre and tertiary centre for many hospital specialities as well a District General Hospital and will be exposed to a variety of Emergency Medicine presentations.
Clinical duties will include all those normally expected of a Senior Clinical Fellow/Specialty Trainee in Emergency Medicine in the UK, and will account for the majority of the appointee’s time (80%). This time will include the shop floor supervision and teaching of junior doctors during clinical shifts. In addition the appointee will be expected to take part in the formal teaching and on-going audit programmes within the directorate. Admin time will be allocated from the clinical component of the post.
The remaining 20% of this post, dedicated to sustainability, will allow the successful applicant to pursue projects intended to contribute to the ‘Delivering a net zero National Health Service’ strategy and the Trust’s own ‘Green Plan’, primarily focused on activities within the Emergency Department, but will involve engaging with activities and discussions at a wider Trust level.
At Lancashire Teaching Hospitals, our team is our work family. Working for the Trust, you will be working as part of a collaborative, friendly and caring team of incredible people who are committed to providing excellent care with compassion.
Our purpose is to be recognised as the centre for acute and specialised hospital services in Lancashire and South Cumbria.
The Emergency Departments at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals are forward thinking. There is a very low turn over of permanent staff, which demonstrates the friendly and supportive atmosphere.
