As a Software Engineer in our team, you’ll be tasked with participating in the full software development life cycle, from conception to deployment. Working with data scientists, machine learning engineers and domain specialists, you’ll design and develop software solutions, ensuring they’re well-tested, efficient, and scalable. Your role involves writing clean, maintainable code, integrating software components, and maintaining system documentation. Additionally, you’ll troubleshoot and upgrade existing systems, while actively participating in our digital transformation by deploying innovative features that provide real value to our customers.

What you’ll bring to the role

  • To work within the software team using agile methods, participating in sprint planning, sprint reviews and retrospectives.
  • To ensure the design follows laid down codes of practice, software procedures and project life cycle methodologies within the defined software process.
  • From time to time to take on the role of feature or team lead as directed, providing team leadership and design direction as appropriate to the size of project.
  • To solve problems as they relate to cloud-based software and the wider cloud infrastructure.
  • To acquire, maintain and disseminate knowledge of new software innovations and their potential application to the digital products and services created by Malvern Panalytical.
  • To assist in training for internal and external personnel and mentoring of less experienced engineers.

About you

  • Strong C# development skills, with comprehensive knowledge of .NET frameworks, particularly ASP.NET for building robust web applications. Demonstrable experience with Azure cloud services, including web app deployment, configuration, and management
  • Familiar with Azure resources like Cosmos DB, Service Bus, Azure Functions; knowledge of Kubernetes, preferably AKS.
  • Experience with Git, SQL/NoSQL databases, yaml CI/CD pipelines, and front-end technologies like Microsoft Blazor.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools preferably Terraform.
  • Capable of technical leadership under a Team Lead Software Engineer.
  • Quick learner of new technologies with an adaptable skill set.
