JOB DESCRIPTION

“The Cloud Infrastructure department is a new team within IT Infrastructure (ITI) in Statkraft. Our main task is to continuously improve how Statkraft utilizes the cloud, and help IT adopt and deliver on the Statkraft cloud strategy.
We are seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer who will be highly involved in shaping Statkraft’ s cloud journey moving forward, and having a main focus on cost optimization for Statkraft Azure globally. You will work in a dynamic and self-driven team. You will report to Head of Cloud Infrastructure

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

• Analyze and monitor the cloud environment to identify cost optimization opportunities and implement them on a global scale.
• Drive cost savings through purchasing reserved instances, savings plans, hybrid benefits, centralization and standardization on a regular basis.
• Work closely with finance to ensure accurate invoicing and provide cost visibility to the business.
• Review cost optimization recommendations for business applications and support the business area in budgeting, forecasting and reporting of cloud spending and trends.
• Collaborate with architect, engineering and development teams to evaluate and identify optimal cloud solutions.
• Design, develop and deploy modular cloud-based systems.
• Develop, maintain and evolve automation of cloud solutions in accordance with best practices and Statkraft security policies.
• Modify and implement changes in existing environments.
• Help automate and streamline our operations and processes.
• Educate teams on implementation of new cloud technologies and initiatives.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, WE BELIEVE YOU TO HAVE:

• Ten or more years of experience in IT
• Five or more years of experience related to cloud technologies and cost optimization as well as understanding of the potential in cloud delivery- and operating models
• Ability to solve complex technical problems and accomplish tasks with minimal supervision
• Strong scripting knowledge in Bicep, JSON, PowerShell or similar
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree within relevant fields, or relevant work experience
