Reports to: Manager, IT Datacentre Services
Purpose of the Role The Senior Cloud Operations Engineer assumes a pivotal role in strategizing, implementing, and optimizing LifeLabs’ expansive cloud infrastructure. This role encompasses the orchestration of innovative solutions, analysis of complex architectural challenges, and continuous enhancement of hybrid azure cloud-based functionalities.

QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience
• Profound familiarity with Azure services (compute, storage, networking, security, etc.) alongside a comprehensive grasp of alternative cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, etc.).
• Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, etc.) and adeptness with automation tools (Azure DevOps, Ansible, Terraform, etc.).
• Proven track record in microservices containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Proven ability to research, analyze and recommend improvements to the company’s use of the existing technologies.
• Advanced knowledge and experience with agile SDLC practices.
• Excellent analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent documentation skills, and ability to create clear solution diagrams.
• Must be hands-on in delivery; takes ownership of tasks and drives towards successful deliveries.
• Valuable certifications like Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert are an asset.
• Must be flexible with working hours, may include on-call back up and weekends.
• Must be open for travel to sites.

• Spearhead cross-functional collaborations to design and implement highly resilient, secure, and scalable cloud-based solutions aligned meticulously with business objectives.
• Architect innovative solutions that foster interoperability, seamless integration, and future scalability across diverse platforms.
• Act as a technical visionary, translating complex business needs into innovative architectural blueprints and ensuring alignment with evolving technological trends and industry best practices.
• Architect and fortify fault-tolerant Azure cloud infrastructure ensuring scalability, rigorous security measures, and future-proofing against emerging technological shifts.
• Continuously assess and refine architectural blueprints to maintain a cutting-edge and adaptable cloud ecosystem.
• Drive automation of operational workflows utilizing advanced scripting languages like PowerShell, Python, and cutting-edge configuration management tools.
• Implement automation strategies to streamline deployments, minimize downtime, and enhance system reliability.
• Vigilantly monitor system performance, conduct exhaustive analysis, and implement cutting-edge optimizations to augment reliability and operational efficiency.
• Generate detailed reports and actionable insights to drive continuous improvements in cloud performance and resource utilization.
• Establish and meticulously maintain advanced CI/CD pipelines employing Azure DevOps, Terraform, Ansible or other automation tools for the seamless deployment of applications.
• Implement and optimize deployment strategies to ensure rapid, reliable, and consistent delivery of software applications.
• Drive automation of operational workflows utilizing advanced scripting languages like PowerShell, Python, and cutting-edge configuration management tools.
