Ocho are seeking a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer with a key client to lead a dynamic team in Belfast. In this role, you’ll spearhead the design, implementation, and optimisation of our cloud-based infrastructure, ensuring seamless operations for the platform.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) with a focus on engineering best practices.
  • Extensive expertise in Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure (AWS and GCP), and ideally databases.
  • Deep knowledge of cloud environment best practices, including security, cost optimization, and reliability.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, effective in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Experience in Infrastructure-As-Code (IaC) best practices.
  • Software development experience
  • Understanding of Cloud Observability, Monitoring, and Tracing tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, build, and maintain highly available, scalable, and secure cloud-based services.
  • Develop automation scripts and tools to streamline infrastructure provisioning and deployment, empowering engineering teams.
  • Implement and manage Kubernetes clusters for container orchestration and scaling.
  • Drive enhancements in cloud infrastructure security, including access controls and vulnerability assessments.
  • Work on CI/CD pipelines to automate software deployment, emphasizing engineering and self-service automation.
  • Define and maintain cloud engineering best practices and standards to ensure consistency.
  • Evaluate emerging cloud and DevOps technologies for integration into our practices.
