SUMMARY OF THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced technology transfer professional with a proven track record in commercialising university research to join our team. The post holder will be part of an established commercialisation team, working closely with colleagues in Exeter Innovation and other professional services teams with the aim of driving commercialisation activities through routes such as new venture creation, intellectual property licensing and collaboration with external partners. They will also support University of Exeter researchers to secure translational funding, provide Exeter researchers with intellectual property exploitation advice and identify routes to market for research outputs in support of these aims.
A key responsibility will be leading commercialisation activities within the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences (HLS) in order to drive innovation, entrepreneurship and impact. The postholder will build effective relationships with researchers, external partners and investors and contribute to the development of a diverse and inclusive entrepreneurial culture. The Faculty of Health and Life Sciences (https://www.exeter.ac.uk/faculties/hls/) comprises six departments, three of which form the Univertsity of Exeter Medical School and are based across several campuses and partner NHS sites in Devon and Cornwall.
