Description:

We have a community nursing opportunity within High Weald Lewes and Havens Specialist Older Adults Service for a Band 7 Senior Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who has a non-medication prescriber (NMP) qualification, or a willingness to complete the training, we would also welcome applications from nurses from Band 6 who would like to train as a non-medical nurse prescriber and are interested in a development role.
This is a newly developed role which will be a key part of our multi-disciplinary service for older adults with mental health problems, including Dementia. The is challenging work but we receive very positive feedback from our service users and carers.
This post will develop your clinical leadership skills and knowledge while maintaining your hands-on skills. The emphasis of this role is on promoting clinical expertise and teaching, whilst being a key member of the leadership team.
You will need to be caring, compassionate and a good communicator, with a commitment to improving the lives of our service users a through creative, evidence based practice. You will need to be keen to embrace new ways of working and enthusiastic about improving clinical practice in line with the latest research and organisational learning.
This post will work across both sites, Hill Rise, Newhaven and Millwood, Uckfield.
The post is 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9.00 am to 5.00 pm (excluding Band Holidays)

Responsibilities:

rovide clinical leadership within the service and develop and participate in the delivery of a supervision structure for team members.
Monitor and support the team in caseload management and practice.
Manage a caseload of clients with complex mental health needs and undertake case management/lead professional/ CPA as needed.
Manage and supervise members of the team, chair meetings and provide cover for the Team Lead as needed.
Support the recruitment and induction process for new team members.
Support registered staff and students through preceptorship/mentorship
There will be travel across the geographical area covered by the team, the ability to travel to remote areas is essential.
