Job Description
The role holder is responsible for the delivery and operation of the regulatory framework for Currencycloud’s APAC business, ensuring that the company observes all relevant local and international Regulatory requirements, as well as ensuring the business is well positioned to onboard and transact with APAC customers in target segments.
The role holder is part of the compliance team for the APAC region, working alongside the APAC Compliance Director. While the Compliance Director is responsible for the delivery and operation of the Compliance framework for Currencycloud’s APAC business, ensuring that the company observes all relevant local and international Anti-money-laundering, Financial Crime and Transaction Monitoring requirements, the focus for the APAC Senior Manager - Regulatory is to own and manage all matters relating to Currencycloud’s status as a company regulated to provide financial services in a number of jurisdictions within the APAC region. As well as this, alongside the APAC Compliance Director, the APAC Senior Manager – Regulatory will ensure the business is well positioned to onboard and transact with APAC customers in target segments from a regulatory perspective.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications
To apply for this role, we are looking for someone who has at least 8-10 years of working experience within Regulatory / Compliance functions in the financial and/or payments industry. Legal backgrounds are not mandatory but welcome. We will also seek candidates with the following:
- Good knowledge of Singapore’s Payment Services Act (“PSA”) and the relevant subsidiary legislations. Knowledge of other payment services regulations across APAC preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience in managing relationships between firms and regulators, including managing regulatory inspections and audits.
- Experience in drafting and implementing Compliance / Regulatory policies and procedures.
- Experience in conducting business-wide financial crime risk assessments.
- Ability to provide advice and training on key regulatory considerations to sales and marketing, operational and other teams as necessary, e.g. safeguarding, limitations on who we can sell to, where, and what we can sell.
- Comfortable working across regions in a fast paced and time sensitive environment – although the role will be autonomous within region, strong collaboration with the Regulatory group functions in other regions such as EMEA will be required from time-to-time.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Possesses a growth mindset and is solutions-driven while ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or professional certifications
