Gilmour Space is the leading Australian rocket company, pioneering next-generation hybrid propulsion technologies for small satellite launch vehicles.
As an experienced member of the Composites team, the Senior Composites Technician will support the Lead Composites Technician to ensure the smooth running of the composites department. They will document and communicate across all stakeholders in an efficient and timely manner whilst adhering to Gilmour Space policies and procedures.
This is for an afternoon shift being 1:30-9:30pm.
MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Level 3 Trade qualification in Aerospace, Marine, or similar trade
- 5+ years of experience in the aerospace, marine or automotive manufacturing
- NV1 Security Clearance eligible preferred

- Hands-on advanced composites manufacturing experience
- Experience taking products from prototype through to volume production
- Experience with rapidly introducing process improvements

- Work with design engineers to evaluate designs for manufacturability and test requirements, then implement in a rapidly evolving production environment
- Train technicians on best-in-class operations practices by driving process improvement workshops; providing training and information briefs on key topics; and demonstrating solutions in the area
- Apply process improvement methodologies and tools to reduce manufacturing build hours and quality issues; increase production rates; and remove waste from complex processes
- Produce prototype and/or test articles
- General composite technician activities
- Other duties as requested by Managemen
