JOB DESCRIPTION

Are you interested in crafting and designing innovative product experiences that empower playful learning for children? Then this is an outstanding opportunity to join the LEGO Education organization in the LEGO Group.
We do not offer relocation for this position.

The ideal candidate brings a relevant educational Design background combined with 7+ years of design experience working with the development of complex and advanced products and product ecosystems (physical/digital) within e.g. consumer electronics, electronic toys or other relevant industries. You have a high quality portfolio, a solid understanding of children’s capabilities, and a keen interest for learning. In addition, you show a proven track record of leading and driving product experience development projects from start to finish involving cross functional teams as well as have familiarity building with LEGO bricks to the extent of being able to quickly sketch out ideas and concept models using these. Also, we expect:

  • A first-class toolbox when it comes to creating concepts and designing products (prototyping, 2D, 3D, rendering etc.)
  • Knowledge about Computer Science (Coding, AI, Machine Learning etc.)
  • A T-shaped profile with a deep understanding of the design process, and broad experience and interest in: Industrial design, mechatronics, UX, interaction design, digital design, education, and learning.
  • Excellent partner and stakeholder management skills ensuring sparring and smooth collaboration with relevant internal colleagues as well as teams across the wider LEGO Group

Responsibilities:

The LEGO Education Design team consists of highly skilled people across various functions such as Industrial Design, Digital Design, UX and Model Design. User involvement and testing is driving our decision-making processes, and we pride ourselves in being highly iterative and agile in our methods. As a Senior Concept & Design Lead you will be responsible for driving product experience innovation streams from initial concept exploration to product launch and beyond. You will act as a hands-on role model for more junior colleges as well as for peers across various functional areas. Furthermore, as a member of the LEGO Education Design Leadership Team, you will be part of pushing an agenda of building Design Excellence. You will efficiently and effectively be bridging product experience with business, technology, learning outcomes and marketing, and will be safeguarding and pushing the quality experience expected from LEGO Education while making sure we are developing highly competitive products and experiences.

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Creative to join our team that designs and develops our STEAM learning products.

You are positive and constructive and always keeps your eye on the ball and the end goal. We will expect you to be a conscious mentor of less senior colleagues, comfortable with delivering and receiving direct and candid feedback as well as thrive in a high-paced and constantly evolving environment. Furthermore, you should be able to relate to the below:

  • The ability to constantly switch between zooming out in order to “connect the dots” while being able to zoom in on the important details.
  • A dedicated teammate that truly believes that the best work is done collectively,
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills. A strong storyteller that master’s the visualization tools necessary to tell an engaging story when presenting work.

The ideal candidate will have a passion and interest for learning and children’s education. Experience working within the learning space is a definite plus.
