Summary of Position
The Senior Consultant is responsible for leading projects and coordinating activities related to the Alberta Find a Doctor website and reports to the Director of Communications for the Calgary and area Primary Care Networks. The Senior Consultant leads planning, coordination, implementation and documentation for the day-to-day operation of the website, which connects Albertans with primary care providers. The position is accountable for initiatives related to data quality, comprehensiveness and stakeholder communication and works in partnership with Primary Care Networks, Zones, physicians, nurse practitioners, clinics and Albertans. The Senior Consultant will be capable of meeting tight deadlines and articulating the schedule, budget and relevance of key projects to various stakeholders.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and projects utilizing excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Outcome-driven, utilizing well-developed problem solving, conflict resolution, facilitation and customer service skills
  • Knowledge and experience in project and change management
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to adapt to the audience and desired results
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
  • Ability to handle confidential information in a discrete and professional manner
  • Knowledge of website content management systems, APIs and/or HTML preferred

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

  • Graduate degree, preferably in healthcare management, business administration or related healthcare field
  • Certification in project management, change management, quality improvement (AIW, Lean, Six Sigma) and/or human-centered design preferred

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum five years’ experience in project management, quality improvement, knowledge management or research in an organization of significant size and diversity is preferred, experience in primary health care is preferred

Responsibilities:

Key aspects of the position may include, but are not limited to:

  • Act as project manager for Alberta Find a Doctor projects and any other projects that may be deemed a priority by the Alberta Find a Doctor lead and/or the provincial steering committee
  • Facilitate the design, planning and implementation of activities to meet deliverables in a coordinated way that aligns with an Alberta Health grant agreement
  • Oversee the implementation of security and privacy protocols and procedures
  • Provide support for the Alberta Find a Doctor provincial steering committee and associated governance structures
  • Prioritize project deliverables
  • Report progress of projects and highlight challenges to the Calgary Zone’s Director of Communications
  • Develop and lead the implementation of sustainable policies and procedures related to various Alberta Find a Doctor projects
  • Respond to enquiries from Albertans who ask for help finding a doctor/provider
  • Provide input into recommendations regarding the future operation of the Alberta Find a Doctor website, including a survey/stakeholder analysis
  • Liaise with all PCNs, Zones, Alberta Health Services, the Alberta Medical Association and other partners to identify gaps, opportunities and linkages
  • Assist in developing evaluation and quality improvement methodologies to measure project outcomes
  • Travel, as needed, to Alberta communities to attend meetings, gather information and provide project management leadership
