Job Description
AMCL are looking for a highly driven and committed person to join our growing Digital Advisory and Asset Information consultancy team. You will work with infrastructure management organisations to transform how they work, delivering tangible outcomes and benefits that endure. This role is a delivery leadership position and will involve managing clients as well as a matrix team of consultants.
You might be a consultant working in technology implementation, a hands-on IT project manager, technical business analyst, a data manager, or a business leader; we are looking for talented people who understand how to link business needs to data and technology. The ideal candidate is passionate about delivering a high-quality service and continuously enhancing their working knowledge of cutting-edge data and technology solutions to support business strategy and decision making.
While not mandatory, experience working with or for an infrastructure management organisation in transport, energy, water or real-estate, and knowledge of the asset lifecycle is highly desirable. We are looking for someone who can join a dynamic team, shape the future of the business and who has the foundations to be, or is already, a thought leader within the field.
The role will drive the sourcing and delivery of consultancy and transformation programmes and projects for high profile infrastructure organisations. You will shape and own projects, from bid through to delivery. You will lead exciting commissions that take a client’s capability and the service they deliver to the next level. The variety of projects, across different industry sectors, will enable you to learn, develop, share and adapt approaches to maximise value for your clients.
You will also be joining a team of asset management, digital, asset information and industry thought leaders and be able to contribute to the development of the cutting-edge approaches and services that AMCL delivers to clients globally.
Our UK & Ireland Hub home office is London (Clerkenwell) and we have satellite offices in Birmingham, Manchester and Dublin. We have teams in North America, the Middle East, Australia and Singapore. There will be the opportunity to support projects across the globe and the option to travel on short or long term secondments.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Understanding of data, technology and business process maturity journeys from assessment to improvement roadmap development.
  • Demonstrable passion for data and technology solutions with an understanding of how digital capability can drive value for infrastructure businesses.
  • Experience of working in one or more infrastructure Asset Management organisations and knowledge of the phases of the asset lifecycle (Acquire, Operate, Maintain, Dispose) and its enablers, e.g. asset information & asset risk.
  • Relevant experience in at least one of infrastructure management sector: transport, energy, utilities (incl. water), or real-estate.
  • Experience engaging all levels of an organisation interpreting their needs and communicating technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Understanding of the need for technology and data including sponsorship and developing businesses cases that consider whole-life value.
  • Experience in delivering technology and data solutions client side and/or as part of a management consultancy, systems integrator, or solution vendor.
  • Knowledge of the technology marketplace and specific Enterprise IT applications across infrastructure design, delivery and operations (EAM, ERP, GIS, CRM, BIM etc.)

ADVANTAGEOUS SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience of working in a consultancy organisation and directing the delivery of consultancy programmes and projects.
  • Knowledge or awareness of data specification approaches including external data standard adoption (Uniclass, IFC, ISO19650, ISO14224 etc.), Building Information Modelling, ontology definition, data modelling and dictionaries.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Information management frameworks including data quality management practices, e.g. ISO 8000.
  • Experience in technology architecture and optioneering including Enterprise Architecture design principles, e.g. TOGAF, C4ISR etc., and Target Operating Model / Business Model design and implementation.
  • Experience directing and applying business and data analysis methodologies including BPMN 2.0, UML, process mapping etc.

  • To operate as a senior consultant as a part of the UK & Ireland delivery team, promoting and adapting AMCL’s service offerings and capabilities to best meet our client’s needs and deliver benefit.
  • To oversee the technical quality of Digital and Asset Information services and products delivered by the team, ensuring they meet the standards expected of the AMCL brand and deliver outstanding value to our customers.
  • Build and own lasting relationships with clients and the industry including active involvement in managing client and internal accounts to identify business opportunities in new and existing markets.
  • Consult with clients, using your enthusiasm, knowledge and experience to act as a ‘critical friend’ to develop and shape their businesses and improve their data and technology management capabilities.
  • Support the wider team on delivery of projects and achievement of business plan outputs.
  • Drive and manage the delivery of complex transformation programmes and projects for clients.
  • Deliver project work, including but not limited to, facilitating internal and external workshops, writing reports and delivering presentations.
  • Produce thought leadership and compelling collateral for the internal team and for external communication, to support engagement with industry to question and redefine the status-quo and drive new, innovative ways of delivering outcomes for our customers.
  • Develop and communicate service offerings and lead bid activities.
  • Provide internal review and examination of team deliverables.
