JOB DESCRIPTION:

Reporting to the AVP, Executive Compensation, the Senior Executive Compensation Consultant enables the Total Rewards, HR and enterprise strategies by supporting all aspects of Sun Life’s global executive compensation programs including incentive design, administration and communication, compensation modeling, benchmarking, performance analytics and disclosures. The role is also responsible for Executive Compensation project planning and execution.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate with senior levels within the organization to provide professional analytical support for executive compensation programs
  • Participate in senior management / business partner discussions regarding initiatives/changes in organization structures and compensation programs
  • Reinforce Sun Life’s compensation philosophy by recommending business solutions (programs, processes, tools) that are competitive, equitable and pay-for-performance oriented
  • Research, review, communicate and implement appropriate solutions in support of providing an effective executive compensation experience, including presenting findings to senior leaders
  • Handle complex inquiries that have been redirected from HR and business partners
  • Prepare Sr. Executive/board-ready materials with a mix of quantitative and qualitative analysis, working with business partners (e.g., HR, Finance, Client groups) to acquire necessary inputs
  • Flawlessly manage large and complex spreadsheets (e.g., year-end compensation changes for executives globally)
  • Analyze market competitiveness of Sun Life’s compensation programs
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of internal and external compensation design, practices, policies and industry trends to drive recommendations
  • Perform key monthly, quarterly and annual activities to support financial and other reporting
  • Act as a project manager for medium to large compensation-related projects or work streams, managing non-routine and multifaceted projects independently
  • Support other executive compensation projects such as incentive plan design, and analysis related to mergers and acquisitions
  • Liaise with internal and external audit and regulators as needed
