Description:
The Proteomics Research Infrastructure, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen is looking for a Senior Consultant to lead its service pipeline.
ABOUT US
The Proteomics Research Infrastructure (PRI) is a state-of-the-art mass spectrometry (MS) based proteomics research facility located at the faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at the University of Copenhagen.
PRI offers easy and timely access to the newest proteomics technologies, providing support at all levels from consultancy, over sample preparation, to MS measurements and data analysis. PRI is funded by the Novo Nordisk Foundation (NNF) and linked to the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Protein Research (CPR) a top-notch research institute for fundamental protein research and a world leader in its proteomics technologies. The research environment at PRI and CPR is vibrant, ambitious, and international, with many different nationalities represented. The working language is English.
Responsibilities:
YOUR TASKS
The successful candidate is expected to oversee the service pipeline at PRI and ensure that proteomics services are conducted in a timely manner at the highest international level. PRI receives more than 350 service requests a year, and for more than 75% of those, PRI offers sample preparation. The successful candidate will manage two technical staff members and coordinate sample preparation, applying the latest proteomics methods. The candidate will refer directly to the PRI Director Michael Wierer, who can prioritize the listed tasks below when necessary.
YOUR TASKS WILL ALSO INCLUDE:
- Advising and supporting UCPH and non-UCPH scientists in different sample preparation strategies.
- Supporting PRI users in filling in sample request forms and selecting the most suitable options.
- Being the first-level contact point for PRI users for questions related to their request status.
- Developing and implementing streamlined protocols for the analysis of standard proteomic service requests.
- Designing protocols for user-specific proteomic projects.
- Developing and adjusting protocols for various automated sample handling systems (Hamilton STAR, Thermo Kingfisher, Tecan A200, Agilent BRAVO).
- Performing sample preparation, when required by workload.
- Attending proteomic conferences to keep up to date with latest developments in the field.
- Co-authoring publications, when relevant.
