Summary of Role & Key Responsibilities

We are looking for a Senior Consultant to join our Climate Resiliency & Decarbonisation Business Line in any of our city locations across Australia. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in setting Science-Based Targets (SBTi) to aid in the delivery of impactful consulting projects that help clients achieve net zero.
Working with a team known for its collaborative, positive and supportive culture, you will play an important role in driving our SBTi offering in Australia, while liaising closely with Anthesis’ global SBTi team. You will seek out ways to ensure the work is done to exceptional quality, in an efficient and outcome focused manner that best meets the client’s needs.

What you’ll be doing

• Win and deliver diverse SBTi engagements.
• Actively engage with Anthesis’ international SBTi subject matter experts.
• Build collateral, ways of working and QA processes and procedures to ensure consistent, high-quality outcomes.
• Possess and seek to further develop your deep SBTi subject matter expertise.
• Create solutions for our clients’ climate change and sustainability related challenges.
• Support the development of proposals that demonstrate an understanding of the client’s business and creative scopes of work to achieve their goals, and actively contribute to Anthesis’ business development activities.

Key Requirements, Skills Knowledge & Expertise

The ideal candidate will have

• A passion to solve climate change using the full spectrum of technical, social and economic tools available.
• A deep technical background in the SBTi program, including experience in its implementation and application.
• A relevant engineering or environmental science degree
• Post graduate studies in energy, climate change and/or sustainability desirable but not essential.
• Candidates with accounting, finance and economics backgrounds will also be considered.
• 3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience; consulting experience well regarded.
• Comfort with a fast-paced, client-oriented environment, including critical thinking skills on environment and sustainability problems.
• An ability to liaise effectively and communicate with a range of stakeholders to build client relationships and grow business development opportunities.
• Strong data analysis and interpretation skills, including advanced MS Excel skills.
• Previous project management experience across multi-disciplinary teams desirable but not essential.
• An ability to work collaboratively within a team, including with clients.
• An eagerness to learn, grow, and challenge yourself.
• Australian residency or work visa.
• Ability to travel for work.
