What will you get to do in your exciting new role?
You will deliver future energy and decarbonisation technical consulting engagements across various clients, including government, power generation, transmission and distribution, transport, defence, water, resources, telecommunications, financiers and more. You will be involved at the front end of the project lifecycle, making meaningful contributions to the direction, value, and impact of cutting-edge energy initiatives for our clients.

The types of engagements our team delivers typically include:

  • Strategy formulation and road-mapping
  • Project opportunity finding, project development, go/no go red flags analysis
  • Planning and options development
  • Transaction advisory and technical due diligence
  • Concept design and feasibility
  • Regulatory and policy technical inputs
  • Techno-commercial advisory centred on current and emerging energy systems

The technical focus of our work spans the following technologies and more:

  • Large-scale power generation (solar, onshore & offshore wind, energy storage and hydro)
  • Renewable Energy Zones across the Australian National Electricity Market and New Zealand
  • Transmission and distribution network planning, including HVDC optioneering
  • Microgrids & Distributed Energy Resources concepts for precincts and network businesses
  • Electric vehicle readiness strategies, policies and plans
  • Industry decarbonisation strategies
  • Green hydrogen, future fuels, and clean manufacturing energy supply concepts

What are we looking for from you?

  • Tertiary qualification in electrical engineering or a related discipline
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, team working and report-writing skills
  • Relevant experience in the energy sector or energy-related projects
  • Project management experience
  • Broader professional or consulting experience

Technical experience in the following areas would be viewed favourably:

  • Electricity network strategies for demand management and integrating solar, batteries and electric vehicles
  • Power generation and storage technologies, including wind, solar, batteries and pumped hydro
  • Emerging energy technologies e.g.: grid-forming inverters, electric vehicles, dynamic operating envelopes, etc
  • National Electricity Rules (NER) and energy market operations
  • Decarbonisation and net-zero emissions roadmaps and plans
  • Experience as owner’s engineer on power generation projects and electrical substation design
