Description:

JOB DESCRIPTION

The role involves providing subject matter expertise and domain advisory leadership in the capacity of a Consulting Partner for our clients in the travel sector, in addition to supporting the junior engineers, IT development team and Agile business analysts. This role will require to develop strategic relationship with client stakeholders, work with the client leadership to shape solutions and engage with the technical colleagues to deliver the solutions. The person will lead engagements with regards to development of IT systems and taking responsibility for engaging and creating a result driven relationship with various internal and external stakeholders /partners.

KEY SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Airline, Airport or Cruises domain experience
  • Strong domain knowledge in the area of customer & commercial (CRM, Loyalty, Selling/Servicing channels, etc.), Operations (crew management, fleet operations, Airport/port operations, fleet handling, etc.), Maintenance (Maintenance support, cargo tracking, etc) and Back Office (ERP, HR, Finance, etc,) with deep expertise shown in two or more areas in the airline or cruise industry.
  • Minimum understanding of concepts of reservations, inventory management, distribution in the travel industry is a must.
  • Knowledge of various strategic and tactical maintenance activities, work planning, scheduling & forecasting activities, operational reports, compliance & governance reports related to fleet (ships, aircrafts) would be essential.
  • Awareness of the product development activities, Agile methodologies, requirement analysis, proof of concept development activities
  • Leading and managing consulting teams of size 5-10
  • Knowledge of UK air/water transportation policies, standards, regulations and national legislation
  • Experience of developing product road maps, technology and product strategies
  • Knowledge of the safety management and risk assessment process
  • Project management activities, governance methodologies, experience in IT system development for large government organisations
  • Experience in airline/cruise infrastructure management and safety critical environment
  • Experience in working with multiple disciplines with internal and external stakeholders
  • Good exposure to lead business development and account mining initiative to grow group revenue in travel & transportation space.
  • Strong foundational skills - communication, stakeholder management, forward planning; should have had ownership for project outcomes
  • Experience as a public speaker / industry speaker
  • Strong experience in shaping portfolios and business cases for the customer
  • Ability to interact with senior stakeholders at CXO Levels

Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for providing industry leadership to air & water travel customers including airlines, airports, cruises, etc.
  • Stakeholder management, responsible for developing positive, engaging and result oriented relationship with the client
  • Support application development, system integration, risk mitigation and support the client project engagement head, professional head of workstreams with technical expertise
  • Manage project stakeholders including IT delivery team, subject matter experts, business analysts and various client working groups
  • Provide technical leadership by coordinating and leading team meetings, managing the risk logs and taking ownership of the technical issues
  • Work with stakeholders and partners to mitigate the potential risks and any issues
  • Involve in IT development activities, system integration activities to ensure the effective delivery of the system
  • User acceptance / product acceptance process activities
  • Ensure the benefits realisation of technical developments by engaging with R&D governance forums and stakeholders’ meetings
