Description:
JOB TITLE: SENIOR CONTRACTS LEAD
Reporting to the VP, Construction and Engineering or their designate, the Senior Contracts Lead is responsible for leading the development, implementation, continuous improvement, and execution of Skeena Resources Contracts strategy and policies. The Senior Contracts Lead will support the Skeena operational field sites development project activities, and the corporate office as required.
ACADEMIC/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Undergraduate Degree in Business or Operations Management is highly desired.
- 2+ years of legal or paralegal experience, preferably working directly with contract law.
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- Mining experience is essential, ideally in a mine construction environment.
- Knowledge of current and legally-binding contractual language and terminology.
- Willingness to work virtually or in an office setting.
- Ability to identify, analyze, and suggest solutions for problems, customer complaints, and client concerns.
- Working within or supporting development of an IBA/IBCA in Canada.
- Experience in EPCM contracting, procurement or contractor management is desired.
- Strong computer skills using MS office suite – is required.
- Knowledge of enterprise level software packages is necessary.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must possess very strong attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, tact, and diplomacy.
- Leadership attributes to influence and persuade a course of action with multiple competing priorities.
- Demonstrated capability and experience working with Indigenous governments/communities including history, protocols, values, and governance and implementing those values is considered an asset.

Responsibilities:
- Interface with project & site groups for all contracting requirements from start to finish, including developing tender schedules, defining commercial structures, compiling RFP documentation, managing RFI communications, evaluating proposals, recommending for award, and final contract negotiations & execution.
- Lead the continuous improvement and execution of Skeena Resources contracting strategy, policies, and guidelines.
- Ensure that the terms of contractual agreements are written in language that is legally binding and in accordance with Skeena policies.
- Work with Skeena and/or consultants to review contract terms and conditions to verify that they are in compliance with Skeena policies and all applicable regulations.
- Reviewing contract breaches and determining a response plan.
- Interface with key client executives, ensure adequate visibility of the contracting vision, build and maintain strong working relationships with internal clients. Ensure client satisfaction.
- Assist with upfront planning, vendor selection, understanding lead times, and operational transition integration and business readiness.
- Negotiate commercial and contractual conditions seeking the best possible price, terms of execution, and quality conditions.
- Coordinates and administers on-site contract management in conjunction with the Sustainability department.
- Demonstrate social awareness, commitment and compliance with Skeena Resources opportunity sharing agreements, always showing a socially responsible behavior with the Community and with the Company.
