Are you an experienced C&I (Control & Instrumentation) Engineer looking for your next role? My client are a leading automation company that operate across Oil & Gas, Chemical, Power & Renewables industries. This opening is to support across Oil & Gas in their Aberdeen offices. This role is working 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home on a permanent staff basis.
They’re looking for a client facing engineer to support on an industrial automation system adhering to schedule, deadlines and budget of the project, ensuring quality, safety and performance in line with SLA’s.

Key Requirements - Senior Control & Instrumentation Engineer (C&I):

  • Functional Safety experience.
  • ISO61508, ISO61511 accreditations.
  • Competent facing clients as and when required.
  • SIF/SIL, TUV, F&G & ESD are all desirable.
  • Maintenance of Safety Shutdown & Distributed Control Systems onshore or offshore.
  • Recognised qualification in either Electrical/Mechanical/Control Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years relevant industry experience

Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - SENIOR CONTROL & INSTRUMENTATION ENGINEER (C&I):

  • Project Initiation, System Design: Analyse, verify, complete and translate the User Requirements Specification into Front End Engineering Design, Functional Design Specification and/or high-level system design documents ready for customer approval.
  • Project Planning: Analyse the (sub-) system work breakdown structure (WBS, work packages in co-operation with project engineer), complete it, and make an optimum sequential execution planning meeting the agreed specifications, schedule, and technical objectives.
  • Project Execution, Detailed Design: Make the detailed system design, including interfaces. Safeguard the system integrity, technical quality, safe operation, and performance in accordance with requirements. Include the design requirements for a safe and flawless start-up.
  • Project Execution, Configuration: Co-ordinate and/or realize the configuration and assembly of the system, compliant with the detailed design ready for internal test. Prepare for integration in the total automation system.
  • Project Execution, Internal Test: Lead and/or execute the internal test of a system, perform FAT readiness tests, resulting in the system being ready for FAT or for integration in an entirely integrated automation system.
  • Project Execution, FAT, Installation, Commissioning & SAT: Support the project engineer and execute and/or lead the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), transition to site, site installation, commissioning and Site Acceptance Test (SAT).
  • Project Monitoring & Controlling, Quality: Make sure that project technical objectives are met by monitoring project progress in terms of technical design and implementation, changes, resources, schedule and budget, and by taking immediate corrective action where necessary.
  • Project Execution, Project Closing: Formalise the customer acceptance of the project and bring it to an orderly end. Formalise a project’s closing in case the project is put on hold or cancelled
