POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Take all reasonable directions from leaders to comply with the organisation’s workplace health & safety (WHS) protocols. WHS is everyone’s responsibility.
  • Help to build a strong risk and data-driven culture in Product and C&A.
  • Assist the Risk Control Testing Manager to ensure team quality assurance and documentation standards are met.
  • Analyse data to better understand potential and emerging risks to support a targeted controls assurance program.
  • Aggregate data from multiple sources to provide a comprehensive assessment.
  • Assist with the compilation of management reporting packs and Board papers.
  • Design and deliver report and analysis artefacts.
  • Collaborate with other team members to effectively analyse and present data.
  • Constantly keep a check on compliance requirements.
  • Undertake end-to-end reviews of control systems to identify non-compliance, leakage points, and provide recommendations for rectification.
  • Provide guidance, insight, analysis, and automation solutions to optimise the first-line Risk Management function to protect the organisational resources and business strategy.
  • Maintain reasonable knowledge of regulatory and industry compliance requirements.
  • Build and maintain a business glossary for consistent interpretation and use of common business terminology.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Qualification in a relevant discipline and/or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 3-5 years’ risk management or audit experience within the financial services industry, preferably insurance.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead, engage and develop others.
  • Specific experience and associated understanding and knowledge of the current and emerging financial services regulatory, commercial, technology and operational trends in Australia.
  • Self-motivated with an ability to work autonomously to manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to build and sustain effective relationships both internally and externally.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing ability.
