We are looking for a Senior Controller to join our Finance Team in Dartmouth, NS. The Senior Controller is responsible for assisting with the establishing of financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems related to: accounting, accounts payable; accounts receivable and payroll. This includes assisting the finance group with the achievement of the company financial performance and targets.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND TRAINING

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration or equivalent business and a recognized Canadian and/or US accounting designation (CPA)
• 5+ years of accounting and financial administration experience for a major company or division of a large corporation
• Experience leading financial teams as well as developing and mentoring staff
• Strong analytical, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting skills
• Excellent ERP and Microsoft Office Suite skills
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Strong communication skills
• Strong negotiating skills and tenacity
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Legally entitled to work in Canada

• Ensures the integrity of financial records is in compliance with legislation, regulations and policies
