The Senior Controller for New Product Development is a key role in our business will drive the company’s future growth profile through considered R&D and business development spend. You will bring new ideas, challenge the status quo and devise concrete steps to ensure capex projects are correctly appraised. You will be a trusted business partner to our BD/Product portfolio team, commercial teams and Product supply. Importantly, you will also build current reporting further to ensure ROI assumptions are also tracked and monitored going forward.
In this role you will:
- Be a Finance leadership to Chief Scientific Officer, responsible for financials for New Product development team (both internal R&D and external In-licensing deals) with emphasis on appraisal of capex investments building on current processes (business cases, financial appraisal through NPV, payback, ROI etc.) and updating these as required.
- Be a Finance Lead for regular Zentiva Portfolio Committee meetings, define key tracking measures for Return on Investment (ROI) for Zentiva Group’s Product portfolio investments and work with Product Development to ensure correctly tracked and presented concisely to Executive Committee and Zentiva’s shareholders. Ensure proper management of new launches, portfolio optimization and segmentation, correct allocation of costs.
- Analyse, report and plan financial performance of the product portfolio.
- Produce and present monthly New Product Development Financial Reports including P&L analysis, capex detail (R&D and business in-licensing) and reporting/tracking of New Launches.
- Drive the Group annual budget, forecasting and Long Term Plan processes for new product development and present budget and forecasts internally and to Zentiva’s shareholders.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 10+ years’ experience in Group finance role in a multinational company
- Experience in capex project appraisal
- Experience with pharma/manufacturing companies preferred
- Accounting/CFA certifications desirable
- Full professional proficiency in English is required
- Proactivity & proactive communication
- Proven skills in communication and excellent presentation skills
- Capacity to move in a complex environment of project management, process owners, users’ expectations, and under financial challenges and competing priorities.
- Capable of translating technical items into a clear summary for management
- Can operate with high agility in international environment
