Responsibilities:

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Child Development Unit team as a Senior Coordinator (Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, Psychologist or Speech Pathologist), where you will be responsible for:

  • Functioning as a specialist clinical expert in the coordination and planning of multi-disciplinary clinical assessments for children referred to the Child Development with complex neurodevelopmental concerns.
  • Leading the development, coordination, implementation, delivery and evaluation of high quality and evidence-based assessment and management services to children and young people who present with developmental difference in multiple areas of their development.
  • Providing advanced clinical services in the assessment of children and adolescents who present with complex neurodevelopmental differences, and their families.
  • Providing a developmental perspective within the team to contribute to a holistic understanding of the child’s behaviour and presentation.
  • Providing clinical supervision to postgraduate Allied Health Professional students completing a major placement as part of their clinical training requirements as required

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • High level skills in communication (verbal and written), negotiation, conflict resolution and teamwork.
  • Minimum of 5 years clinical experience working as a paediatric allied health clinician.
  • Demonstrated clinical expertise in a specialised area of practice including skills to teach and supervise a wide range of students at both the under-graduate and post-graduate levels.
  • Empathy and understanding of the needs of families with a child with a disability and able to respond in an appropriate manner.
  • Knowledge of child development and of the range of services available for children and their families within South Australia that promote child development
