Description:

THE OPPORTUNITY

Ramsay is actively preparing for the future of healthcare, and we’re seeking a Senior Corporate Counsel to play a key role in this transformation. This position will collaborate closely with our General Counsel & National Legal Manager - Commercial, focusing on leading-edge procurement projects and tackling diverse legal, corporate governance, and risk management challenges. Please be advised that this position is a 24-month contract opportunity.

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Act as a strategic advisor to Ramsay Australia’s business units, forging strong partnerships with key stakeholders, especially the Procurement team.
  • Offer insightful legal counsel on procurement strategies and business ventures, guiding strategic decision-making.
  • Skilfully draft, negotiate, and finalise intricate procurement agreements vital to business operations.
  • Provide swift, practical, and effective advice on a wide spectrum of commercial legal matters.
  • Contribute to shaping corporate and procurement policies through thorough review and development processes.
  • Participate actively in meetings with stakeholders and project teams, offering influential insights to steer project direction.
  • Collaborate within a team environment, taking on diverse responsibilities, mentoring junior colleagues, and providing valuable support across functions.
  • Effectively manage multiple tasks, delivering results within stringent deadlines while prioritising critical business needs.

Key skills and experience you bring to the role include:

  • Seasoned background from top-tier firms or in-house roles with ASX 200 companies, showcasing extensive commercial law expertise.
  • Deep understanding of the healthcare sector and its intricate legal dynamics.
  • Extensive track record in managing and navigating complex procurement agreements, excelling in contract drafting, review, and negotiation.
  • Broad expertise encompassing commercial, corporate, property, privacy, competition, consumer law, and IT regulations.
  • Proven ability to cultivate strong “trusted advisor” relationships with key stakeholders in a fast-paced, commercial setting.
  • Skill in delivering concise, commercially astute, and persuasive legal counsel.
  • Experience in advising on regulatory frameworks, including legislative review and compliance strategies.
  • Strong capability in engaging and influencing a diverse range of stakeholders
